"You know I don't expect any special treatment right? Adalaide is my responsibility and although I know you're her new favorite person and that you have a fondness for her, I also suspect that you are not the child friendly type, I don't mean that as an insult, not at all, it's just the truth. Not many people are."

"What I'm saying is, don't think you have to immediately win Addie's love to win mine. You already have it. Addie is her own special sunflower. She's gonna run. She's gonna sock slide down that main hallway. One day you're going to find her having a tea party with your good china and Anthea and there won't be a thing you can do about it."
Greg sidled closer, pressing his body against Mycroft's closing the gap between their mouths. "Addie is going to grow on you. Like a fungus. And adorable, sparkly fungus. But don't feel you have to rush anything on my account."
